New York State traffic courts normally allow attorneys to represent defendants with written authorization from the client, however, it is not so with Criminal Court where the Defendant’s presence is normally required. In both CT and NJ, Courts want the Defendant present in court, excepting special circumstances.
The Law Office of Harold Dee specializes in helping clients with traffic ticket violations and crimes since 1987.

Eastchester, New York, in Westchester county, is 3 miles N of Mount Vernon , New York 17 miles NE of New York, New York. The town is included in the New York metropolitan area. As of the year 2000 census, 18,564 people lived in Eastchester.
This town was first settled in by Europeans in 1664. The first ten families in the area came from Fairfield, Connecticut. They were granted a deed by Thomas Pell, a local landowner, permitting them to settle here. The following year saw the formal establishment of laws in the area. Initially, Eastchester was a farming community, but the arrival of a railroad during the 1840s catalyzed rapid growth in population and housing.
New York DMV doesn’t care how many miles a year you drive. The Sunday driver gets the same point allotment that a taxi driver receives. The Driver Responsibility Assessment is another surcharge on individuals who operate vehicles in N.Y. Now, if you are unlucky enough to have been found guilty of at least six points, all issued within the same 18 months, there is a DMV surcharge of $300.00 payable at once or at the rate of $100.00 annually. Failure to pay will result in a suspension of your license to operate in New York State. This applies to out of state motorists as well. To add insult to injury, there is an additional charge of $25.00 per year for each of three years for each point exceeding six. For example, if one were to accumulate ten points, the annual surcharge would be $200 or $600 over the three years. Taking the Driver Safety Course does not result in a reduction of the surcharge.
